YouTube video shows boys driving cars along school corridors

The two 18-year-olds, Ben Wilson and Oli Stavrakakis, were given police cautions for causing criminal damage by driving their cars into Malmesbury School in Wiltshire.

Police and firefighters were called after the Year 13 pupils squeezed their vehicles - a red Suzuki Twist and a green Peugeot 106 - through the main entrance on May 21 before they finished school to go on study leave.

Both teenagers were then temporarily excluded from school but allowed back to sit their A-levels.

Now, footage of the incident has appeared on YouTube after being filmed on a mobile phone by another student who can be heard laughing and exclaiming "how did they get in".

While classmates and teachers stand around looking bemused by the stunt, the cars, with a front seat passenger in each, drive one at a time along the main corridor before performing three-point turns to drive out.

One teacher walks past the camera and does a double take at the sight before another rushes over to the green Peugeot as it is half way through its manoeuvre and demands the driver turn off the engine.

Officers had to drive the cars out of the building through a fire exit.

Tim Gilson, the school's head teacher, said in reports earlier this month: "They are not bad lads, either of them, but they have just done something really stupid.

"It is a great shame. I think they are fully aware now of what they have done. It was so stupid and so potentially dangerous. Thankfully no-one was injured."

Weeks before the stunt Malmesbury School pupils were shown the wreckage of a car that belonged to pupil Matthew Williams, 17, who was killed in a crash near Melksham in February 2008.

The event with Wiltshire Police was held to promote road safety.

Sergeant Martin Alvis, head of the Malmesbury Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "Cars are not play things but serious pieces of equipment and someone could have been seriously hurt.

"This was totally irresponsible and something which could have resulted in them injuring someone else or themselves.

"Both teenagers have been cautioned for causing damage to school property and should consider themselves fortunate the matter wasn't taken further."
