Traditional Songs, dances, vocals, and trance rhythms from the Persian gulf, featuring the unique talents of Saeid Shanbehzadeh

The music of Bousher is a unique blend of Persian, Arabic, African and Indian traditions that have met over centuries at this cultural crossroads in southern provinces of Iran on the Persian Gulf.
This diversity resulted in an amazingly rich musical tradition where music plays a vital role in all aspects of life, such as religion, work, recreation, social events, drama, music therapy and trance. The main instruments include the Ney-Anbon, NeyJofti, Dammam, Boogh, Zarbetempo, traditional flute and Senj.
The Traditional Boushehri Music Ensemble, led by Saeid Shanbehzadeh has thrilled audiences throughout Iran, Europe and North America with the driving rythms and soaring melodies of this compelling music. Having studied with the old masters of Boushehr since his childhood, Saeid is an exciting master performer of Ney-Anbon, Damman and traditional dance. His ethno-musicological research throughout the Boushehr area makes him a living encyclopedia of the vast repertoire of Boushehri music in all its forms.
